Feeling Disconnected in a Connected World
Let’s embark in the poem ” Disconnected Connections”, which revolves around the feeling disconnected in a connected world. It is highlighting the excessive use of mobile phone and internet that leads to the fractured family bond.
Disconnected Connections
In lighted halls, a deep darkness falls,
Clutching phones, we ‘re deaf to calls,
Flood of lights, so stunning bright,
Our souls reside, in the darkest night.
Social media reigns, a global throne,
Faces are known but hearts are unknown.
Connected world wide, yet lost at home,
Strangers to family, our hearts roam.
Years ago, when phone lacked glow,
Culture’ rules and respect did grow,
Families united, living as one,
No ego, no wrath could break none.
Now love’s in hunger, care in anger,
Cultural norms, and traditions in danger,
In the race of modernity, we’re losing dignity,
Withering true relationship in a modern city.
Countries are connected, cities are disconnected,
Networking so fast, and hearts are discomforted.
Wires crossed,_______signals lost,
Disconnected connection, Playing with an art.
Though wires cross, and signals fade,
Our shared humanity remains declared
Let’s bridge the gaps, and heal the tears,
And find connection, through wires superior.
The Irony of Digital Connectivity
This poem is about irony of digital learning. The irony of digital connectivity refers to the paradox that, although digital technology has made it easier than ever to stay connected across distances, it often creates a sense of isolation in our personal lives. While social media, smartphones, and instant messaging allow us to maintain an unprecedented level of connection, these tools frequently replace face-to-face interaction with superficial online exchanges, which can lead to feelings of loneliness and disconnection in real-world relationships.
