Being a poet, I experienced mindfulness meditation while composing verses. As I continued composing I noticed a positive change in my-self. I began to love poetry and poetry kept polishing me. So in this article, I’m going to introduce mindful meditation through poetry. I’ll throw light on the points of getting inner peace through poetry. Let me introduce the mindfulness meditation. After that, I’ll discuss how the composing verses as a mindfulness meditation and how composing poetry brings inner peace and creative expressions. Mindfulness meditation is a type of meditation which involves cognitive skill. It is a practice which is done in the complete silence so that outward interruptions cannot disturb the mind. We can say that poetry is another form of mindfulness meditation because poetry throws same impact on our health as mindfulness meditation brings. While composing poem, we think about present without judgement of good or bad. We like to sit in complete silence during writing. Poetry gives us freedom to convey our emotions in an impressive way and releasing of emotions soothes our mind. Like mindfulness meditation poetry also removes our anxiety and stress. Writing poetry cultivates our mind and brings awareness like meditation. Poetry relies on sensory detail. That’s way we can say composing verses as a mindfulness meditation. It’s my experience that when we are not in the condition to say something or our voice is not being heard then poetry is the powerful tool express ourselves and our emotions find the voice and hollow words have strong meanings. Poetry helps to express and process the difficult emotions. Through mindful verses, we can step back and find a new perspective on challenging situation. It enables us to confront the challenges.

Poetry gives us awareness about our surrounding and provide us comfort. It connects us with others who are facing challenging situation, we find encouragement and strength, thinking that we are not alone in difficulty. Poetry is a best eraser to erase stress and anxiety. Poetry gives the meaningful language to our raw emotions, in this aspect poetry can be powerful tool for creative expressions. This aspect is making it unique. Through poetry, we are able to express our complex and obscure emotions in an effective way. It clarifies our emotions and defines our feelings. It helps to identify and regulate emotion in such a way that they reach to the validation and acceptance. - To write mindful poetry keen observation is necessary. Observe small moments and things happening around you. Even keen observation of small sound, sights and sensation can lead you to the mindful poetry.
- Reflect on your insights. Start to reflect on your experiences and observations, search for patterns and themes to write about.
- Write from the heart. Write about your pure feelings and authentic emotions in a genuine way. Authentic self in your poetry will make it impressive.
