The Challenge of Maintaining Kindness

Be kind

Several times, I thought to be polite, it’s true,

True endeavors to practice kindness were few.

Once, I tried to tame with coffee machine,

With love and care, its  temper to glean.

But, it met  with spoiled mood that day,

Roaring loud, splattered coffee my way.

Another time, I gave mob a wide berth,

Granting rest, didn’t give confrontation’s birth.

But my roommates’ scattered belongings did stray,

Conflicting views led to a noisy, messy day.

Their behavior rubbed off, my patience wore thin as skin,

Kindness went  down and rudeness flowed in.

You can see, I am not wrong on my side,

Rudeness always takes way by others’ ride.

How can someone be polite at all the times?

Often, It imposes fines  without crimes.

But still, I’ll strive to be kind and strong,

To rise above the chaos, all day long.

For kindness is a choice, a gift to impart,

A balm to heal the heart and soothes soul’s dark part.

Though, the rudeness  and anger may reign.

But we should hold on kindness, like a beacon in the rain.

For in the end, it’s not what others do or say,

But how we choose to respond, that defines our way.
